Obviously I haven't been too interested in blogging of late. We're back here in Glastonbury for the week, but once we get back to Venezuela I'll get to work. Promise.
Ian, John Manuel here again . . . wishing you guys a Feliz Navidad, Feliz Ano Nuevo . . . and checking on the status of any baseball stories you may have for BA! :)
Here in Venezuela, nothing is perfect. Nothing has the sickening shine of a Stop & Shop in Glastonbury or a Volvo dealership in Chapel Hill -- it's all run-down, earthen, different. But the people, with their kindness, their wisdom and their faults, are magical, and they're making this place my own personal Macondo. I'll try to explain it little by little, giving you a bit here and a bit there, while at the same time matching it up against my suburban Connecticut upbringing.

It was great to be with you guys over Christmas, and thank you for your very nice and thoughtful gift. Everyone enjoyed getting gifts from Venezuela.
Safe travels and Happy New Year to the both of you.
God Bless,
Paul
