So, this is it. Still in Brooklyn, still figuring things out. Hope this turns out well; hope it turns into a forum for ideas, for debate, for entertainment. Above all, for friendship. Suburban Macondo, or something. We'll figure it out together.

Here in Venezuela, nothing is perfect. Nothing has the sickening shine of a Stop & Shop in Glastonbury or a Volvo dealership in Chapel Hill -- it's all run-down, earthen, different. But the people, with their kindness, their wisdom and their faults, are magical, and they're making this place my own personal Macondo. I'll try to explain it little by little, giving you a bit here and a bit there, while at the same time matching it up against my suburban Connecticut upbringing.
